Two Blank Checks

When we receive Jesus it should be as if we are giving Him a blank check, giving Him our entire person and our entire life. Giving Him a blank check is what faith does. Whenever we take back the blank check, when our flesh rears its ugly head and we commit some sin of thought, word or deed, we should give Him a blank check again. We should confess and forsake the sin and get a fresh start from Him and with Him. We should strive to obey Him rather than sinning. When He saved you, He gave you a blank check too. He gave Himself and died for you, sought you, found you and saved you. He has done for you the greatest and costliest things. How can we believe that He will withhold any little necessary thing from us.

Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

2 Peter 1:3: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

James 1:17: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Psalms 84:11: For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Our flesh does not want the blank check that Jesus gives and does not want to give Him a blank check. But like the Apostle Paul and with the help of God we CAN keep our flesh under and do what Jesus wants us to do.

1 Corinthians 9:27: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Romans 12:1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The things that we withhold from God are our bodies and our lives. Giving Him a blank check will include giving Him our bodies and lives. Anything short of that is unreasonable, unwise and unprofitable.

Mark 8:35: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel*s, the same shall save it.
